Conan C Rowan
Born in 1966 my first chosen career path was in restaurants and catering with horses as my hobby.
I held several senior managerial roles in a variety of restaurants over the years and even owned my own for a period of time in Dundrum.
I took a career break from that business and decided to use the opportunity to take some formal equestrian training and work towards my BHS qualifications .
I was always of the mind to work for myself and got hooked with the idea of working at my hobby and haven't looked back since.
From a green acre site I designed , built and ran a very successful boutique competition livery yard in County Kildare for several years with my ex partner before going out on my own and setting up in my present location in Kilmessan.
I have attained my BHS II and hold my first aid at work certificate and hold current child protection certification. In 2013 I won the prestigious title of BHS Britain and Ireland instructor of the year as judged by Carl Hester , DI Lampard and Daryl Scaiffe.
I took to media work some years ago after a spell in the judges box commentating ,which I still do at many shows including the RDS Dublin Horse Show.
I have presented and commentated on programs that were broadcast on BBC , Sky Sports, Horse & Country and TG4. In addition I have appeared on numerous radio shows promoting show jumping.
I have MC 'd the Show jumpers awards ball on a couple of occasions and an equestrian themed conference.
I currently present on some news programs and special features and interviews on Irish Horse TV.
I was also the presenter for the satellite TV series covering the 2013 Premier Grand Prix Show jumping Series broadcast on the Horse & Country TV channel.
I have competed up to 3 day international level horse trials, international level show jumping and a high level of dressage and I still compete and coach a large variety of clients .
