About

I have been around and working with horses for more than 38 years. Eventing was my first passion, I competed up to 3 day long format level before I made a change over to show jumping where I competed up to 1.50m Grand Prix level.

My equestrian experience doesn’t stop at my work in the saddle. I have presented and commentated for TV (RTE,BBC,SKY and H&C) and one of my favorite jobs that I have been doing for many years is commentary at the RDS Dublin Horse show. I can also say that I appear in the Mel Gibson movie Braveheart

I have a passion for teaching and in 2013 I won BHS UK & Ireland instructor of the year and even got a mention in the great Carl Hester’s autobiography ” a man after his own heart”.

I am now work as a senior coach at Wellington Riding , providing tuition to groups and individuals on school horses and your own. I also run intensive Adult training camps for dressage ,arena eventing, show jumping and confidence building.

What People Say

Finding a winner who taught from the gut, not only improving the combination but leaving them with smiles on their faces was great. Conan Rowan, shamrock of luck to you you’re a man after my own heart.

Carl Hester

A great rider, lots of patience with myself and my horse ! Always come away from a lesson with my confidence high and my horse going better.

Now it all makes sense! Wish I found Conan years ago! In the short space of a few weeks I have learnt more than all the previous (many)years of lessons
